Types of Financial Aid


FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID


Grants

Pell Grant
Available on a need basis to students seeking their first undergraduate degree.

Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
For undergrads with financial need; subject to annual federal allocations.

Self Help Aid

Federal Work-Study Program
Provides part-time jobs for students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the recipient’s course of study.

Loans

Direct Subsidized Stafford Loan
U.S. Dept. of Education pays interest while the borrower is in school and during grace and deferment periods; student must be attending at least half-time (6hrs) each semester and have financial need.

Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
Borrower responsible for all interest; financial need not required.

Federal Direct PLUS Loan (for Parents)
Parents of dependent students may apply for a Direct PLUS Loan to help pay their child’s education expenses. Visit www.studentloans.gov to start the PLUS process.

Scholarships

Academic Scholarships
Recognize and reward students of exceptional promise and achievement.

Ministry Scholarships
Support students in areas such as missions, music, student leadership, and other designated endeavors.

Endowed Scholarships
Over the years friends of Southeastern Bible College have funded endowment scholarships in order to assist students in obtaining a biblically-based College education.

Founders Scholarship
The Founders Endowed Scholarship honors the founders and trustees of SEBC, particularly members of the Gordon Cecil Berry family. It is to be awarded to further the founders’ original goal to provide a working knowledge of the inspired Word of God and the ability to use that knowledge in Christ’s service.  There is no application for this award as the recipients are selected by the Department Heads of their program.

Grants

Church Matching Grant Program
Features a match of support with a sponsoring church up to a maximum of $500 from the College per year. Review the Church Matching Grant Pledge Form.

Southeastern Bible College Grant
Need-based scholarship awarded on a first come, first served basis to returning students according to need shown on the student’s FASFA, current GPA, and other application criteria.
