Birmingham is a vibrant city located in the heart of the deep South. Cultural and recreational opportunities abound from the Birmingham Museum of Art to the BJCC where nationally known artists frequent a growing music scene. Beyond music and museums the Oak Mountain State Park offers fishing, camping, hiking and more. The Smokey Mountains and the Gulf Coast are a short drive and a local climbing scene at Moss Rock provides plenty of weekend adventure. Alabama has a rich sports tradition whether it be high school or college athletics. The University of Alabama and Auburn University are in driving distance and boast one of the historic college rivalries in the U.S. The Birmingham Barons, a Chicago White Sox affiliate, play at Regions Park in Hoover, just a short 15 minute drive from the Southeastern Bible College campus.
