The Mission of the Department of Arts and Sciences
In addition to an understanding of Scripture and theology, Christ-centered living also requires an understanding of humanity and of creation, and the possession of skills requisite for critical thinking and effective communication. Therefore, every degree program at Southeastern Bible College requires students to successfully complete a core of Arts and Sciences courses (see Arts and Sciences Core Curriculum). The Department supervises the development and quality of these core courses as well as a major in Christian Thought and History and a minor in Biology. The major in Christian Thought and History is designed for students desiring a deeper grasp of the knowledge and skills provided by the College’s core curriculum. The Arts and Sciences Department’s mission is to equip graduates with knowledge and skills that will allow them to successfully apply Scripture and theology in their engagement with their culture and thereby stimulate faithful praxis in all their cultural endeavors.
